New Project & Meme
Yes, I did it. I finally figure out the daisy stitch pattern for lace Cardi. After a relaxing warm bath, I sat down and worked on it quietly last nite. First I swatch with 4mm needle but the sticthes came out a bit too tight, so I swicth to 5mm. Atlast, it came out perfect. I'm happy as a bee right now. Okay, my next question is, will I be able to get it done before christmas? The pattern require 5balls of mohair and I only have 3balls of KSH. I'm a bit worried that I might not have enough yarn. I think, what I am going to do is to work a few inches less for the bodice and the sleeves.

My first self design cardi is progressing slowly. I finished the right sleeve and will try to work the left side later on. More updates very soon.

Okay, now is Meme time, I got tagged my Mimi.
1.What is your all-time favourite yarn to knit with ?
Well, I really don't have a specific yarn in mind that I'm deeply in love with. I'll try anything my hands can get to, as long as it is suitable for the pattern and not too pricey. I'm all for it. But if I must pick, Kidsilk Haze would definitely win my heart, so as lorna's laces shepherd sock.
2. Your favourite needles ?
I have a good set of bamboo straight needles that I no longer use since I found out how wonderful is circular. Sometime I would use Addi Turbo for cotton, I love the slip they gave. Recently, I started to knit with clover metal. They don't curl up like bamboo circular which I really really hate. So I splurge a little, bought 5 different sizes at once.
3. The worst thing you ever knit
My oversize cow neck sweater is definitely my worst knit ever. It was the first sweater I knit for myself. The yarn was nice to work with. But too bad, at that time I didn't know I damn thing about sizing. It just look so flabby and shapeless. My second item would the fluffy scarf. Only wear it once, have no idea why I made it.

4. Your favourite pattern
I love lace knitting. Flower basket shawl is my top favorite. The lace corset top is not bad neither. Zero seaming required.
5. Most valuable knitting technique
I've recently learned short rows, I-cord cast on and bind off. Would defnitely like to learn magic loop technic. I heard it work wonders with tight circular knitting.
6. Best knit book or magazine
That would be Rowan. I know not every rowan pattern is nice or wearable. But I absolutely adore their photography's concept.
7. Your favourite knit-along
I think I've only joined twice, the orangina and corset top. I enjoyed both knit-along and manage to finish both projects on time.
8. Your favourite knit blogs
Hmm..I have lots of fav's as you can see on my right side bar.
9. My favourite knitwear designer
Kim Hargreaves, Debbie Bliss, Erika Knight and Adrienne Vittadini.
10.The knit item you wear the most? (how about a picture of it!)
I wear my corset top quite often when I was still in KL. It is just feel so nice on the skin. Light and soft, perfect for the humid weather. I'll probably knit another one for next summer.

Second item would be the recent completed Noro Scoop Neck Cardi. I've been wearing this quite a lot. It's just so easy to throw on with a pair of jeans. Warm and comfortable, great outfit when I'm lazy to mix and match.

The End. Who's next? Wanna volunteer yourself?

Thanks for answering the meme! Love your red corset. Actually I've been enjoying all your works.
The red lace cardi will be perfect for Christmas. That collar on your cardi looks so nice. Can't wait to see it as FO.
i love all the stuff you knit!! i am so envious of your skills and talent. i picked up a copy of vogueknitting last week (ok, the bf paid for it) but only because i had seen you post some of the pictures on your blog and i loved some of the patterns. i want to make the lace cardi, too. but someday. i am still finishing my circular shrug. almost done!! funny, i hadn't realized that the corset i had posted on my blog was the very same one you had knitted!! hope all is going well with you!! take care!!
