What Have I been Up To This Week?

1. I have been busy settling in and getting things organized for our home. I finally unpacked all my yarns, books and clothes. Our new home is clean and neat after a week of good housekeeping. Nevertheless, I hate moving. This is the last time, I hope.

2. I missed the sale at knitting arts the day after thanksgiving. They were having sale up to 30% . What a bummer!

3. But I did score some beautiful yummy pink ksh and a ball of lanagrossa sock yarn from fashionknit. This is going to be my first sock knitting. I'm thinking to knit Elann's Toe- up Chevron sock. Do you think it is suitable for first timer like me?

4. There's tons of stuff I wanted to get from fashionknits. I saw some beautiful koigu and lorna's laces, so gorgeous. I wanted it badly, but after giving that second thought, I think my stash can last me awhile until I find a full time job.

5. Have you seen the new pattern from Elann - Aran Weight Lace Cropped Cardigan. I love the lace pattern eventhough I'm not too fond of the wide sleeves. This cardigan is worked top-down, with no seams!

6. No significant progress on my ksh lace cardi. Only manage to work a few rows on sunday. I think it's only about 3" right now.

7. My first design -- Mocca wide collar is almost done. I'm working on the bodice right now, couple more inches to go. I should have a FO by this weekend.

8. It is currently about 65 degrees outside and it has been drizzling on and off with cloudy skies and wind. Hope this weekend is nice to take some picture of Mocca.

9. Finally had time to download all the pictures from my camera. As promised, here's some shots I took at Taipei Airport during our transit - My Encounter Taiwan's Phalaenopsis. Aren't they pretty?

10. I have a few people asked me how I did the blog's banner. First off, thanks for all your compliments. Those orchids is one of the shots I took in Taipei. I did some tweaking in photoshop and added some extra touches. If you like to try make one youself, you can search for free stock images in the internet. Most of them allow personal use for comping purposes. However, be sure to read all the terms and conditions.

11. Oh! I'm saving the best for last...remember my episode with Secret Pal 4. Well, eventhough there's some mishap, my pal and I have been keeping intouch lately. She just send me an email and said my package is on its way. I'm really excited and looking forward to it.

12. Alrighty, that's it for now. Hope everyone have a good week. Happy knitting!

I am glad to hear that you are settled in your new place. You unpacked pretty fast, it takes me months to unpack my belongings.
Beautiful yarn! I love that pink ksh, what are you going to knit with it?
I was planning to buy some orchids and after seeing your pretty pictures I am sure I need to get some! :)

Wendy of Wendy Knits! has a generic toe-up sock pattern that you can use. Very handy because it's a good springboard into sock design. You may want to try it.
