As I was about to type my first word. My boss suddenly appeared and ask if I have a minute. Well, next thing you know he dumped a huge ad campaign on my plate hoping I can get it done by Friday. Huh! Friday? You must be kiddin ....ads, signs, shelftalker, website, banners... you name it--the works. So long story short, no more blogging in the office or knitting during lunch break till I get these done. Anyways, I do have quite a bit to share today. And first off, a huge huge thank you to you all ladies! Thanks for all your heartfelt comments on my DFS. There is knitting to report, because I cast on another new project. Well actually two new projects ontop of five other wips.

I posted a few skeins of shimmer for sale last month and since no one express their interest, I've decided to give them away for free. Please email me if you're interested. Again, all these yarns are stored in a pet-free and smoke-free apartment. Write to me if you want it so that I can have an excuse to buy more.

2 skeins of Shimmer in Turquoise Splendor. There's a free shawl pattern featured on knitpicks using this yarn.

2 skeins of Shimmer in Morning Mist. I already wind up one skein into a cake. I did a swatch last time but didn't quite like how it look.

It's been a long while since I knitted anything for DH. Lately I've been feeling a bit guilty. It's been always me me me or knitting for someone else but him. Remember that blue sock that I started last year? It's still not done. I'm so horrible.
You probably don't remember this cable sweater. It was my very first project when I picked up knitting again back in 1999. The first sweater I ever made for DH. A sweater that he only worn twice. Once when I finshed seaming and the second time was when were in Tahoe. It was frizzin cold so he had to put on something. He said he like the sweater a lot, it just that it's too damn heavy. Of course, look at all those cables, 16 balls of DB wool.
You know, that's why I always have that second thought when it comes to knitting for him. So this time around, I'm going to attemp something simple. Something he can wear on a daily basis. I saw this couple days ago and I think he'll probably like it. Well not that color combination, he's gonna think I'm crazy. I actualy like the back more than the front.

I've been meaning to make drunken argyle for my bf since it came out. Who says you can't make both sides look like the back? I say go for it!
I am interested in the turquoise spledor yarn.

I never noticed the funky lines on that vest before - I like it! But I agree, my husband would not go for that color scheme. Are you doing some intarsia or the whole thing just textured in knit and purl?
So far I have never knit anything for my hubby but I'm thinking about knitting the Cambridge Jacket from Summer IK for him. He's kind of a picky dresser....doesn't like anything flashy so I think he'd wear it. I love the dark redish project you got started! I assume it's one of the KH kits.
My husband is the same way - I have made two sweaters for him, and he never wears them! Granted, one is a little big for him, and the other is heavy wool... I have several other patterns in mind for him, but I am just never sure!
I do like the back of the argyle vest more than the front.
Take care!
I have the same problem with my hub. He always asks me to make him something but then is SO picky about what I'm allowed to make. Men! :)
I'll add to the chorus... although my husband has made it very clear that he will not wear any sweater, handknit or otherwise, so I have never tried to make him one. I did make him a toy from Jess Hutch's book, but it accidentally dropped into the trash can at his office one night! The sweater you made looks wonderful, though, even if it doesn't get much wear.
Free Yarn? Of course I'm intersted. My mother said I should knit a shawl for my Grandmother for Christmas. Maybe having the Shimmer & a free shawl pattern would motivate me to do it!
My husband says he WILL wear a sweater I knit for him, but only if he approves the design first. Of course!
That's a super nice sweater! Lots of work, but i know what you mean by being heavy, with all those cables.
I have many cardis that ended up this way.
If he´s only worn this beautiful piece of garnment twice I don't think you should knit him any more sweaters. Perhaps you should make him something more easy to knit up - as a beanie, socks, mittens instead? :o)
