It's Tweed. It's Felted

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

You know sometimes when you see a gorgeous knitted piece from a magazine, you wanted to make it so bad, but in the same time you just not so sure if it's going to work out right, or turned out the way you wanted it. You poke around the web, google it, hoping you can find the exact same thing. Well, this project is just the perfect example. I was not 100% convinced until I finally saw the finished piece during my last visit to Portland. I spotted her immediately when I walked into the store. There she was sitting quietly at her little corner surrounded by many gorgeous yarn. She's green and most likely made from lambs Pride bulky. She was not the talk about item among patrons and of course no one knew I was thrilled to have found her in person. So here you go...after 4+ hours of knitting, 2 movies,an hour of hand felting at my bathroom sink. Let me present to you the first FO of the brand spanking new year.

Pattern : Brooklyn Cap from IK Summer 06
Yarn : 2 balls of Lana Grosa Royal Tweed
Needle : US11 bamboo circular/dpns
Cost for this project: $18

you know, that cap didn't do anything for me in the magazine -- something about the weird side view -- but yours is so fetching! perfectly felted.

Adorable! I'm happy to see someone made one of these. I wondered if it would come out cuter than the magazine version, and your's certainly did. Thanks for the inspiration!
