Knitting getaway

When I learned that DH will be coming to vegas for work couple weeks ago. I immediately told him I want to tag along. Well, not that I fancy those huge casino, slot machines or glitters on the strip. I want a getaway simply because I'm a bit drained from work. And most importanly I also want to sit on my rear all day, do nothing but knit, blog surfing and order room service. (Nice huh!) So here I'm. Flew in last night. Barely slept. Got up at 7am without alarm. That barely happens when I'm home. Went down to the strip, wanted to get something for DH for Vday but didn't know what to buy. Walked around some more. Ended up getting a huge blister from those fancy wedge pump. I am totally disappointed with these shoes. They only good because of those polka-dots. I was limping so badly that I had to stop and get a new pair of shoe. The sales men at the shoe store asked me... "what happen to your ankle? How come it's bleeding...then he stared at those shoes.."oh I see". (Dang! As if men never get blister.) So, here you go. Me and my shoe. The highlight of the day was probably that coffee break and also the Ansel Adams display. His prints are dazzling and rich. Truly amazing!

So, more watching means a new project is underway...
Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

oh yea, i hate blisters, its been ages since i last wear heels. its either barefooted or birkis under my soles.
Happy V-day~
Ohh, that sounds like a wonderful break. Room service and knitting - perfect!
Hope the blister heals up quickly.
Ouch! Hope at least you like the new shoes you got.
That looks like Rowan Yorkshire Tweed to me -- a relative of the pic I posted on Monday, perhaps? It looks cushy and lovely.
Sounds like heaven to me ;)
Except for the blisters part, though I still love peep-toes!
Good for you for taking a nice break. Bummer about your shoes. isn't it funny when shoes that look comfy end up being the least comfy? I hate that!
Enjoy your vacation! The coffee and croissant look so delicious, mmm.
Happy Valentine's Day!
I recently saw the Ansel Adams exhibit at the Art Gallery of Ontario and it was wonderful. Just wanted to leave a quick comment and saw how much I like your photography on your blog. Everything always looks fantastic and yummy.
Ugh, blisters suck. However the sitting around knitting and ordering room service bit sounds wonderful. :)
Stay off of your feet and knit!
Enjoy your holiday and Happy Valentine's Day!
Sounds like a good time, despite the shoes. And you got some beautiful pictures as well.
Very lovely photos!
Happy Valentine's Day! Hope you have a great getaway.
Oh those kinds of shoes - I don't think I have patience for those anymore with running around after 4 kids. They're cute but I want comfort - especially since I broke my foot when I was 18. Hope your feet feel better soon.
Your photos are great too. That shot of the cappuccino & the crossiant - is so warm and cosy. Totally made me crave some! Have fun in Vegas.
sounds like a great trip - not the strip, but Ansel Adams and hanging out and knitting.
Yum and yum.
Sounds like the perfect break from work. So jealous.
Your poor fashionable feet! Tsk, tsk.
Now, please have the decency to tell us what that swatch will become.
I'm so envious of your knitting break - and an Ansel Adams exhibit - perfect! Your poor feet though!!!
Sounds like a wonderful time! We just got those shoes at the store I work at yesterday and I thought they were so cute! I had marked them as a possibility for this spring, so thanks for the blister heads up.
Oh, I'm a little jealous of time that you can dedicate strictly to knitting and blogging. Sounds like heaven. And then you got to see an Ansel Adams exhibit on top of that? Lucky. With the exception of the blister, of course.:-)
Happy Valentines Day and sorry about those shoes. They are really cute! A friend once recommended putting vaseline on the heel of the show to help soften it.
Your vacation/break sounds great. I live about 1.5 hour from Vegas but I don't know of any good yarn shops there. I haven't been too adventous when in Vegas. We walk around and then eat at a buffet. We did go to the Comedy Club at the Riviera. It's only $19.95 including a drink.
Such as shame cause are some CUTE shoes...
That coffee looks good too
Sounds just like my Vegas trip last month! Enjoy the knitting time. It was nice to not have anything else that needed to be done and sit and relax. :)
sounds divine! I hope DH spoilt you for valentine's day!
have fun in vegas! hope you get lots of knitting done.
great photos! -- sounds relaxing except the shoes/walking part! --
i'll be going to vegas in a couple weeks...
Ugh, what a drag. At least you go some good knitting and coffee out of it! I hope you have some lightweight yarn for vegas knitting. Although, i guess people go to vegas for the indoor attractions so you'll be in AC.
Just love your photos... they are so nice!!
what a coincidence, I've got the Habu cotton as well, but didn't know what to knit yet, probably a Spring Scarf.
